Thank you for your interest in our school. As the second oldest Catholic school in the Palm Beach Diocese, Sacred Heart has an established history of excellence in Catholic education. Through a nurturing, faith-based environment, it is our goal to continue the tradition with the help of a strong administration, staff, parent and student partnership.
Nestled between Federal and Dixie Highways on North “M” Street, Sacred Heart School is known as “Lake Worth’s hidden treasure,” and for good reason. Since 1944, Sacred Heart has offered students in Pre-K through eighth grade a well-rounded school experience including strong academics, a deeper relationship with Jesus, and a competitive, inter-scholastics sports program. Sacred Heart School educates the whole child - mind, body, and spirit in an atmosphere of respect for each other and love of God.
ACADEMIC FOUNDATION
Through small class sizes and low teacher-to-student ratios, Sacred Heart students receive a quality education that is second to none. Administration, faculty, staff, and parents form a unique partnership in order to guide students along the road of learning towards a successful and rewarding school experience.
Kindergarten through eighth grade students have the opportunity for involvement in the international educational program, Odyssey of the Mind. Through Odyssey of the Mind competition, students are required to “creatively problem-solve” predicaments ranging from the scientific to the literary, and present their solutions in a resourceful and ingenious manner.
Our academic curriculum is challenging, and provides a firm foundation for our students to build upon. On balance, the students have a full physical education program with opportunities to play inter-scholastic sports, the school band, and theater classes in the upper grades.
The overall objective is the education of the whole child in preparation for future goals.
Sacred Heart School is accredited through the Florida Catholic Conference.
SPIRITUAL FOUNDATION
Religious education is an integral part of the core subjects for all grades.
Students begin each school day with prayer as Jesus is at the heart of Sacred Heart School. Students in all grades have the distinct opportunity to prepare and participate in liturgies for the weekly Mass.
Reconciliation and First Communion Preparation begins in Pre-K and Kindergarten where students begin learning the prayers they will carry with them throughout their Catholic life.
Please contact Sister Carolyn Dowd, our admission director, to schedule a tour of Sacred Heart School during a regular school day.
